Besides, it's the fussy old people with horses that have all the money and they don't appreciate tats
I think life has moved on thank God, If John says he is well mannered hard working and punctual then those are strong qualities in the young of today. Judge the man, not his cloth.
As you mentioned David those qualitys are good in any lads favour i dont think i will have a problem making a farrier out of this lad
And maybe we should start a new thread on how many of the members here have tats . . . umm . . . . without disclosing "too" much . . . .
Id agree on the sleeveless t shirt's bein unprofessional, I used wear them when I was an apprentice, but soon as i went out on my own I stopped, funny how your attitude changes to these things when it may affect your own pocket! Piercings were removed as well!
Ive tats they rubbish now wrinkled skin colour faded all hidden under long pants n sleeves I don't mind tats to some degree , I admit that some look wicked making the wearer look same I don't like to see them on faces and I think the only face piercings that tend to look good are those on the faces of pretty girls from countries that have them traditionally I don't like to see tats n facial piercings on girls from the west so to speak I was broken hearted to see my eldest girl come with tat the art work was her own design and beautiful applied by the artist but I never wanted to see it on my lil girl I try not to judge books by covers and in the past have been wrong to do so as some of the most unlikely looking characters have been the loveliest helpful people want nothing in return but your friendship n Ive been humbled many times by the same beware the silver tongued devil in suit I can see what others are saying about appearance and professionalism as I was often chipped when I was younger n a long haired bearded lout, I was a nice kid , just looked rough As for Johns young mate If John said this is my friend or recommended him that would be good enough for me I have to admit just the same its marverless the difference a tidy appearence and persona can be to opening or closing the doors leading to oppertunity and how people accsept us How much would I like to be Johns new apprentice How fortunate the lad
Sorry john just re read my post didnt mean i had a problem with that lads t shirt, I meant I dont like wearing them myself anymore, I dont think it matters what an apprentice wears. I had a lad working with me for a few months before I left only dress code i had was steel toe boots and no tracksuit bottoms.
But I got the white sneakers because I didn't think Smitty would like my tassle loafers! and to think some folks worry bout tats! good thing I wore out the saddle shoes. Ray
So now what should I do with my white sneakers/runners/cross trainers etc., Jaye can you handle size us 13 wide? I put them on your invoice(small print) Ray
