By 'right' do you mean right as we look at the picture (lateral) or the horses right (medial)?

Yeah, I thought that's what you meant, meaning that you would recommend trimming a little more off the lateral heel. However, earlier in the thread Marc stated "I bet that hoof is high inside hence the lateral wall crushing and heel becoming under run. This will affect the fit and the problem becomes self perpetuating", which would suggest trimming a little more off the medial heel.

I'd agree with that, but he isn't going to be re-shod any time soon, so it will be interesting to see how he 'wears his feet'. When/if he is shod again, it won't be with lateral extensions (owner's decision).

I'll take another pic when I go next time, he's booked in for a trim at 8 weeks. I don't think he's going to have shoes on in the foreseeable future.
