Just wondering what everyone does to stay in shape. Does anybody have a standard routine, exercises stretches or whatever else or is everybody like me and hits the ground running not giving a second thought to physical condition .

I need to go back to excercising............ September I've designated as another month to lose another ten pounds. So I'll have to add an exercise program to achieve that like last time.

I do pretty much the same as Linda, with out the riding, hiking, or diving.
Many times I have found that while working on a young horse or a light Arab, that the ol' gut helps me hold a hind leg still. To keep in shape for that, I often will force myself to have another piece of pizza or an additional fine Ale.

I go through phases they usually last two to three months where im good, go swimming a couple of times a week and gym a couple of times a week, then il get lazy or something will break the routine and itl be six months before I get motivated again.
I definately feel a million times better working when im exercising regularly though and its usually a sore back or something that motivates me to go again.
If ya watch the difference in body position of a person shoeing whos 5ft 7 as opposed to a guy whos 6ft or over its a massive difference in how much they have to bend and how much pressure they put on their back, knees and hips. Im 6ft and started shoing at 18 so wreckon the only chance I have of shoeing til im 65 is staying fit.

Bikinis are so passe. A thong OTOH............And couple that with six sets of ten beer can curls. Abdominally speaking, why settle for a six pack when you can have a pony keg??? :)

The only exercise I get is when a foal or a yearling helps me to a jog with their hinds.....I think that counts as an exercise (y)

I also practice ballet, ride my horses, and wear a bikini. Must be universal farrier conditioning program.

Ok for real I do yoga each morning and take a weekly yoga class to work on strength and flexibility.

In college I was a fairly competitive rock climber and we read in a climbing magazine that a good cross training activity would be ballet class. So me and several of my friends signed up for ballet class thru the phys ed dept. At first the instructor was really hostile but once she realized that we were actually there for a reason and not just to look at girls in tights it turned out to be a great class. So I actually have studied ballet but ....... I have never worn a bikini.

yes, most people do not realize that ballet is the most demanding form of dance and exercise there is and even after years of not doing ballet; It all comes back to me in dance. once the muscles are trained; they are trained for life.
the bikini is a girl thing :p

Back in '76, I attended a 2 week martial arts training camp. Part of the program each day was an hour of ballet training, and an hour of judo training. Those were the two hardest sessions of the day, physically.

The best climber on my Team was a short fella about 5' 4" with a ZZ top beard. He looked a lot like the actor who plays "Gimli" the dwarf in the Lord of the Rings movies. It was a strange image him in ballet tights and top.

George, as a superhero toe dumper I would expect you to wear spandex and not a collared shirt. :D
