Lots of experience. Wife puts oregano in spaghetti sauce. It's GREAT! :D

Haven't tried her sauce on thrush . . . yet. Hmmmmmmm

This might be crazy, but I just googled "oregano treatment", for shits and giggles. I was surprised at what came up.

I'm not a big fan of "natural treatments" for any bacterial or fungal treatments. I prefer to kill stuff, usually with chemicals, not just slap it around with natural voodoo stuff, but probably some natural cures do work.

I have a client who used the No Thrush and thinks it's working. She's not the fluffy bunny type. A fairly competent horsewoman.

Anyone else care to weigh in?

    Regards

    Rick,

I feel very lucky never to have had a case of the "shits and giggles", have had one without the other, sure could be messy together, does that oregano work, fraid to ask where to put it.

man the things you learn at www.farriersforum.com, you should get extra credit for this one, if not ce credits.

This stuff works well, its called NT Dry over here. A couple of my clients have horses with the most manky frogs in the world and this stuff cleaned them up great!

wow! Thrush an anerobic infection of the soft tissues of the foot....Main causation.... inbalance of the foot.....medially/laterally and the toe and heel...... in most cases. Some say that, "thrush is all the black stuff". IMO and IMEs when the infection invades the heel bulbs: walla! Thrush, a chronic and serious problem.

Got anew one next week the owner says, per the other attending 'shoer, "has a infection we can't control, the horse will have it for a lifetime". Will post a couple pics of the case and app to "control" the infection.

    A simular case:

Man you must work on some crappy horses. Maggots might be a good thing (not on your salad). They might save you the trouble of cutting away all that dead frog.

    Jaye,
That mass in the middle of the frog, even though seared, sure looks like canker to me.

As small as a thrush bacterium is, a load of oregano powder is at least gona make it choke.
I don't see how a powder is going to get down to the bottom of a deep sulcus crack, especially when wet. I'd go with Durasole for it's penetrative properties.
