I'm glad someone has taken the trouble to set up this forum and particularly considering the way the other one was wrecked by the new owner.

    but some things i'd like to know;

who is the owner of this?

is membership invite only? or can we get others here?

is the intention to rival/compete with the other?

I know I've stopped going there. not sure about others though.

    Hi Thomas, I'm the owner.

    Everybody is welcomed.

Horseshoes.com has decided to go towards a more social platform. The center of this site will remain the forum.

To answer the title of your thread. The game plan is:

    For the website -
    • Forum
    • Full Photo Gallery
    • Directory
    • Events
    • Store/Classifieds
    • Probably a video gallery at some point
Once those things are all added, that will be the website for the foreseeable future.

Also bring the horse owners section on par with the farriers section. Horse Owners should have a place to do their thing just like Farriers do.

I've been talking to a lot of people spit balling ideas. There are plenty of ideas, bringing them to reality is sometimes a challenge.

Let's stick to "imaginary" spit balls, shall we?

You English are much too civilized for that sort of thing to exist in your culture.

    1. A spitball is a projectile made from chewing paper and forming it into a ball, then blowing it through a straw toward the teacher when his or her back is facing the class.
    2. A spitball is an illegal act in Baseball, where the pitcher applies saliva to the ball before throwing it.

Yep! For instance we're working on getting an article system going. Problem is you can't just throw an article system up with no articles. Articles take a hell of a lot longer to write than a post. LOL

Being realistic I figure some of the things like articles won't get going until next fall.

I guess what I mean is the fancy new website that's put the "fancy ahead of user friendly" Or does it have to do with content?

ughhhh! What you are describing is signal to noise ratio. IOW, there is too much going on that it drowns out the content. Plus the overall bad implementation of his entire site! You want a site to feel integrated. This site, like it or not, is integrated. Every part of the site resembles the forum and basically works the same way.

Add to that the Farriers are now basically telling horse owners that they are not wanted. And the only one who seems to understand that horse owners are who keep that site alive and trying to bring reason to everyone is Rick. Unfortunately, Rick is not the owner. The only one who can put an end to that nonsense is Steve.

It's all bizarre. No one actually wanted to come to this site and I had no intentions of starting a site. The only reason any of this is happening is because we have no choice.

I'm in accord with everything you said.

Steve has made a hash of it and killed it stone dead. I went and read that nonsense about owners like illegal immigrants. disgusting!
This is good format and works well.

i've rustled up some folks to get joined.
