I know alot of Farriers that shoe in shorts..admittly I would never, only because I tend to hang a nail in my pants legs and if I didnt have jeans on, my skin would be taking a worst beating than it does now....it isnt unprofessional at all!!
A polo shirt, shorts , clean socks and mankini; I shoe in that attire all summer. It sure beats a sleeveless T-shirt, cowboy hat and boots.
there is nothing unprofessional to look like a horseman when you are in the horse business field. but I don't wear the cowboy hat. and I wear a turtleneck, jeans and boots in the colder months. Mankini....but I look better in my thong!
So THATS's what yall were doing while I was working...looks like a government DOT job site...one working, one watching, and one taking pictures! Kim, This is my attire until about the time frost hits the ground, then I put on the jeans and hiking boots. If I were Jaye's apprentice, he could set a dress code, however, I am more like his mercenary, and for the 1-2 days a month that he needs extra help, he's not real judgmental about my attire...and he wears shorts sometimes too...my legs are just sexier than his! Besides, what's more 'professional': shorts in a matching dry-wick outfit or jeans that are so sweaty, they look like I peed my pants front top of butt crack around to belly button? Linda, I assume this is sarcasm. Even the vets around here wear shorts and scrubs. In fact, one of the best vets here sometimes wears camouflage shorts.
Pee pant jeans are definitely no longer in style. Your braver than I...... plus my legs are so white the client would be blinded.
For me,it should be unnacceptable.Besides,If the "work inspector" can see you working in shorts,he fines you whit 600 euros.
Another thing that's good bout the system in the States, no fines based on how one is dressed , no work inspectors! Regards Ray

All things have the pros and cons. Here, if a horse cut your naked leg,the Social Security care you and pay you the medical benefit.Cause of,the workers are obligatory to dress the security wear. We can't wear guns or pistols in the truck neither.
