I'd roll out the red carpet, and help with the escort. :)

George Geist, did you happen to get a chance to photograph your magazines that you received from Fran? I sure would like to see them so that I can inquire as to why I didn't get them???? Could you kindly let us know what month(s)/year(s) they were published? Thanks, Dave

Thank You George you just confirmed that she is a crook. The only issue that I received was issue 79 with the branding iron from the spanish riding school on the cover. I received this issue in 2003!! According to her website issue 79 is the last one listed so I take that as she hasn't put out a magazine since at least 2003, but has continued to take money for subscriptions.

But like I said above you just confirmed that she hasn't produced a magazine since at least 2003, I will also dig it up and look at advertisements for products and clinics, one can usually date a magazine by the content in it.

Well George you should read for content on her website. Because it is listed as 4 issues per subscription and produced quarterly.

    http://www.hoofcare.com/subscribe.html

    From the above link:
Hoofcare & Lameness is the horse world's leading resource for information about horses' feet and legs. When you subscribe, you will receive four compendium-style editions,

    http://www.hoofcare.com/subscribe_online.html

You'll notice under the link above it is listed as 4 issues per year which makes it a quarterly produced magazine and a 1 year subscription.

If you search Hoofcare and lameness magazine you will notice it is listed as a quarterly journal.

    http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt...mss&ei=UTF-8&p=hoofcare and lameness magazine

Under a google search this thread appears at the bottom of the page hopefully people will scroll to the bottom and not get conned by her.

I think I will start a facebook page as well to spread the word in hopes that people will not get conned by her. Since like Tom the statute of limitations has run out for me.

Maybe we should ask the American Farriers Journal to publish a public service announcement warning potential subscribers.

Go back to post #15 on page one. That was the last issue published. I have two years left on my subscription from '03. I have not moved in over 21 years.

    Arthritis? ;)

Regardless, I long ago quit holding my breath in anticipation of receiving the 'next' issue of H&L. Years ago, I itemized the cost of the subscription on my tax return and considered it a lesson learned.

    George,

why not start a thread about these questions concerning Anvil and the Today s Professional and see what the interest is? you have mentioned it before, if it is that important to you then start the conversation in a new thread!

IIRC, there was. But he was riding a fast horse and we were afoot.
Because it would have been a waste of good hemp.
See above. Besides, people have responded to that issue(and others, too) by not renewing their membership.

It seems to me that in each instance, that sage observer of the human condition, Phineas T. Barnum, has been proven correct.
    Asked and answered. ;)

George the reason no one is that upset over the above mentioned about the mags u list is they are out of business ...she's not and will take your money right now ... She's a damn scam don't let your friendship blind you ...

    Did he continue selling subscriptions?

    Did he continue selling subscriptions?

My understanding (based on finance committee reports) was that the dues were increased to cover the existing budget shortfall for operating expenses, which did not include the magazine. Supposedly the magazine covered its own costs with advertising revenue until Davidson took the advertisers and the articles with him when he left to start Todays Pro Farrier.

The current AFA benefits are here:
    http://americanfarriers.org/membership/benefits/

    Done.
None of your examples sold subscriptions FOR NINE YEARS after they ceased publication.

I just looked into having her PayPal account shut down. We'll see if they look the other way after investigating.

Ya George, I also have issue #79........ it was the "free"one that she handed me in person, also in 2003, while she looked me in the eye and told me that I would be receiving 8 more issues over the next two years for my paid in full two year subscription...her words , not mine, George. I have not moved since, nor ever received anything from her except bullshit about why I have never received anything ...

I'm not sure what she's giving you that the rest of us aren't getting that makes you defend such a dishonest person and an embarrassing black eye to our farrier community... just sayin'

Oh... and I was quite certain that you couldn't produce the "bunch of them sitting in the other room"...(your words)... you're embarrassing yourself on this one..................

George, you should give up on this.

You're too good a man to be demeaning yourself by defending someone who is brazenly defrauding the members or your profession.

The guys that have been around a while are aware of the fraud, but she is still cheating the newer members and the general public who are the most vulnerable.

Her actions reflect poorly on a trade that we all love.

That must be it!! LMAO:rolleyes: My Father in law is my mail carrier.:D My Mother in law is also a retired postal carrier. I think I know how it works.

At the top of the page it says 4 issues per year, and the info I provide below the link was copied from her website.

Put your glasses on George the website is pretty clear and I also followed it up until I had to enter my payment, so she is still taking money.

Actually I try to make it a point not to go there but sometimes you have to get some evidence.

In case you don't know how search engines work George, they find the site then they paraphrase off of the website a few sentences underneath the link to the site so you can see a little about it before you go there.

Thanks George you just gave me an Idea I'm sure all the search engines would like to know that they are promoting a scam artist, I think I will contact them!!!!

I can't speak on the topic of anvil magazine but if I remember correctly didn't the other let everyone know they would no longer be receiving a magazine, and have since quit taking money for subscriptions.

    I will.
1.) I never subscribed to Anvil.
2.) when Today's Pro Farrier ceased publication I was sent a refund for issues I had left on my subscription.
3.) currently I am not an AFA member. When publication of the magazine ceased, so did my membership. I could not see the benefit in donating $150 at the time. I will be a member this next year because the magazine is back and I'm going for my CJF.
