Here is my wall to wall shoe rack system very simple and effective to the right i have a iron rack then a good coke fire and a work bench i can have 3 horses in and still have room
First decide what equipment you will want, not what you have now. Then take powder lime/spray paint ,mrk on the ground the perimenter of dream building and make a mock up at the location you've picked; see if it all fits. Allow adequate/safe work space for shoeing and don't forget the additional space for the horse's buddy/babysitter near by. Stand in the middle and ponder awhile' you'll be surprised at how many changes will be made long before construction starts. Then, when you discover exactly HOW MUCH THIS DREAM COSTS; you'll make do with whatever outbuilding (garage, chicken coop, grainery, tracter shed, etc...) currently stands on your property that requires the least amount of work to make it happen....
Have a hot side and a cold side. Also draw out what you want that way if someone suprises you and builds it for you, you get what you want.
No kidding!! You could use the hoist to lift up the little sh!tters, and the pit to get under the heavy fat ones.
I can tell you a 24' x 24' cinderblock building isn't big enough but on the plus side, even I haven't been able to burn it down in 33 yrs.
I can tell you, an acetylene flashover takes care of those pesky cobwebs, gets the neighbors out of the house, stops traffic but doesn't do much to preserve your hearing.... and when the township fire dept finally gets there, they get all pissy because there's no fire for them to play with.lol
