Scratch that, I didn't realize how very little they know about any of this stuff. I'd say at least a few weeks maybe longer!
I offered to buy horseshoes the other day for a $1 I offered to fix it for free but they said they couldn't give me access due to members private info. The private info would be you're email address and birthday or whatever other info you added when you registered! Nobody knows peoples passwords. When I mentioned this they came back with I would be able to go into the database and read everybody's private messages. From what I understand, he's not hiring any more people to try to fix the site. So it all comes down to Alex.
even if the site gets up and running it hasen't got the same atmosphere as when Baron ran it. i think you need to be some sort of a farrier to run it
someone that knows his way around the job knows the inns and outs of it nothing to do with how good He/She would be
Had been getting in fine to HS quite a while so long as I didn't try quoting in a post or backing up pages. Not so now. Can't hardly go there at all now w/o getting "404'ed". That's w/o even logging in. Let me know when it gets lined out. Won't be back there till it does, Jack Mac or no Jack Mack!
There is only one site up and running well. I miss some of the guys from the old site, but the group on here were all on there, with more coming every week. This site has more of the atmosphere of "the old site" than "the old site" does. I'd like to see more of Jack Evers, Mark Gough, Jeff Holder, Tom Stoval, Pat Reilly and Phil A. on here, to name just a few. I notice they haven't been on horseshoes much though. The folks that post on there the most, I'd just as soon not deal with. It's the content and membership that make up the site, assuming the software works. With a poor format comes poor participation. Regards
I think a few things play into that. You still have quite a few people who would prefer to be on horseshoes. From the large amount of members and the site being what it was you still get the occasional horse owner posting which gets people participating. It doesn't look like Ray has any plans/desire to push this site to be any more than what it currently is.
