I have been asked to prepare a history and use of studs, corks, chalks ,traction add ons. I called a friend of mine in Canada ,Andre Hebert, who used to make screw in and drive in studs, his father before him and grandfather previous to his dad. Andre could go back into the 1940 to Great Britian with info , does any one have other verifiable info about earlier commercial stud manufacturing than that. Thanks Ray
Ray, just a tidbit. It doesn't say he invented the stud, just that it was his first product. "Julius Blum, a farrier and carriage smith by trade, founds his company March 1, 1952. His first product is a horseshoe stud which prevents horses from slipping." Regards
Rick, thanks for that, i ll look him up, Andre Hebert gave me some leads bout a man,Isler in England 1947. Regards Ray
Travis, or should I say "ya big stubby" when you get to be a big boy ,you ll realize that even your momma said some things, sometimes just to make you feel good bout yourself! If I write the article you ll get a mention! Regards Ray
