sorry to make things awkward but with my bad head and lack of computer savvy i found it easier to post the pics on one album , some belong to the on the road shoeing , a few are for Ray and his stud calkins thread , and a couple on Ricks tool thread . just ask me questions and i will do my best to answer , the hammer is an original Heller nailing on hammer , this was used for over 60 years by the chap holding it , Bert Flatters FWCF my old boss , my mentor and my still my best mate , it was given to him by his first boss who had used it so i cannot give an exact date to it
Chris, thanks for the pics, I ve never seen a chaulk set up like that, if you ever find an xtra shoe like that and a chaulk or two I d like to purchase them ,how old would that chaulk system be? If I write the article , i ll ask your permission to use those pictures, i ve seen similar drill presses, just not that manufacture, were the holes drilled for drive studs , threaded studs or both, any idea when that method was started? Heller shipped around the world and that style head was often popular with farriers/smiths who drove large nails. Thanks again for posting them. Ray
