    Gary,

maybe that s a use for the 1/4 inch rebar, the stuff that you and Earl don t use for pritchels! but that might be another thread subject.

How do your rebar pritchels hold up? and how do you see they would be for the man that John mentioned,
    John,

did that man say what his pritchels were made of,and how they held up?

    Regards

    Ray

We were never asked to make that number as an App
16 pair of C/W on the floor is all my boss wanted
he said he could bye fronts so there was no need to make them.
the bigest day when qualified was made 10 sets of 1x3/8
draft shoes and put 8 set on in the same day.
getting back to the tools they were not that good in those days

45 pair at 10min a pair is 7 1/2 hrs, they might have done that one day, but I doubt everyday if they do they won't last to long.

Justin they do it twice a week or more for 4 years . This is the norm over in england this is one reason why they are more sharper then other app. I have seen the standard of the work from some and it was 1st class

Justin , as an apprentice we were expected to make a minimum of 20 sets , clipped and heeled concave a working day , there are still many practices in the UK that only use handmade shoes , we only buy plates everything else is turned by hand

Bought some of those plates the other day for polo ponies (stromies), they were 8 quid a set with Vat, I tried the horse shoe direct stuff, I think I gave them straight to the Gypos.

    Yep Il just check.

£2.75 for fronts and £3.20 for backs, so call it £6.00, plus VAT £7.20, I think they are dear.

Its a job to know what to do, those imports are crap, if the horse is doing any work then they are soft and bend and look rubbish, I trt an support pledgers cos there metal is good but it cots a bit more. Still making money though so I shouldnt complain.

we only really buy ali plates and our preference is cottams , pledgers is on the doorstep but they never seem to have what we need , we get plenty of samples so try many different brands thats why we stick to making our own but as they say never look a gift horse in the mouth , we do use cottams concave steel , they offer us the best deal and i really like their bold section
