Trafic is a little slow at the min, so while we wait for the next bun fight is any one interested in posting views on things they have bought and used, good or bad.

Last fall I bought a pair of Lopez crease nail pullers. Best hand tool I have purchased in recent memory. I have not had my pull offs out of the box since. I have busted many knuckles and pinched fingers sliding off nail heads. These things grip and won't let go of any nail no matter how worn. They are short which makes them perfect for one handing and still gave just enough length for torque.

I bought a pair of foal nippers ( MFC I think ) a couple of years ago. I tried them a couple of times, then they ended up hanging on the shop wall. Sold them on Ebay last spring for about a third of what I paid for them. They were even in the original plastic package.

Tried a pair of Lopez nippers this year. Every bit as good as GE's as far as I'm concerned.

Looking for reviews on chaps. Over the last few years have had a couple of different pairs but am getting kinda tired of the velcro straps clogging up with hair on a certain brand.

I punch holes in the velcro and cable tie the two bits together and then use the buckle. A gentle wire brush removes the hair, North South and then East West.

I've always been happy with the NC Tool aprons. They are durable, affordable, light weight, and last about a year before the pads start to wear through. They use plastic quick release squeeze connectors on the straps. I've never had one fail.

How many horses a week does your apron have to deal with? Or do you wear it at your desk?

They were 10" MFC foal nippers. They just didn't cut well, probably me, but I can do better with my 14" GE or Lopez.

I have a pair of Peterbylts that are over ten years old and going strong... snaps on leg straps...... I wear them all the time, have tried others but nothing compares..they are heavy and I have had others kid me for wearing "half a cow", but they have kept many a nail out of my knees and legs.... I have rebuilt them a couple times.... new snaps, ran new stitching around the leg patches.... just can't kill them....

I'll bet you will leave them at home for the next few weeks if we bet on that haha! I had a pair that lasted less than 4 months although i hear they are working on improving them so i will probably buy another pair later this year. I have a leather version of them made by 3rd millenium they are £40 cheaper, hard wearing and just as comfy

I tend to not be hard on tools and chaps and the like
    only on app:)
As Alan Calvert use to say the best way to shoe horses
is to slip in and out of them

I've only ever had one horse pick me up by the apron. ;) I know a lot of guys that do, but I don't do any foot work with the horse's foot resting on my chaps. My cradle and hoof stands take quite a beating.
