If it is forum help then it should probably be read only and sticky at the top.

I would think referencing the article in a seperate forum would keep the original article easier to read.

I think we should get started on getting articles.

I'm happy to provide something on training to stand for the farrier if that's considered wanted and/or useful

The way it will be done is, I will create a new articles forum which can not be viewed on the forum homepage. I will create a new menu to link to the articles forum. In that forum I will create categories. Inside those categories will be the articles.

This is the plan anyway. If something better comes up I'll look into it.

The article system is set up. It's very basic right now because of no articles yet. :( As it grows new categories can be created to keep it simple and clean.

I haven't set up permissions yet. I'm still thinking about how to set up replies. I'm leaning towards no replies at all. Or possible moderated replies.

It's set up. I would like to see a complete articles system on horse care.

I think that the replies should be separated from the articles. The article can always be cited in "general" and talked about. So do people want to go to read an article, or to read the article and all the comments made about it?

Can we "borrow" articles, with author noted?

That could be tricky unless given permission by the author.

I have no idea how that works. I would imagine you can do it with the authors permission. I think we have enough knowledge floating around here that we don't need to copy others articles and quote them.

    Thomas,

In addition to training to stand for the farrier, it would be good to see an article on training horses for trailer loading. IME it seem that when one has a problem with one area they have it in the other as well.

Im in the library on the 24 of April i will have a chat with them there on the etticate of posting papers. It basically falls into a few different cats, those that are in press and waiting publication, published, those that are free and those that are charged for. Lots of people love to share there work and a few get pissy if anybody looks at it.

Excellent! I'm sure you're aware but for those who are not, the articles section is just another part of the forum. To write an article just create a new thread.
