send me a box of bends to try. most of mine are coming off their shoe packages this month, after Nationals, so it might take a while to know how this leather performs

New load of splugs were "created",molded, last week, because several folk informed me that the mustard, old gold or as I refer to them as shit yellow, were the lucky color,I made a few snowflake for them. As pictured, there are other options, but who am I to stand in the way of a lucky color".......no matter how putrid!

The leather tannery I work with has informed me that they have made some 4/5 iron ( an iron in leather talk is 1/48th of an inch) sole leather bends for me, these are in response to requests that I ve had from farriers looking for even thinner than 1/8" leather pads, usually quarter horses.

when they told me they would try, I asked that they make them as firm as possible, a 100 bends are leaving the tannery today with my load of other leather,
9/9/14 and I should be able to cut pads by next week, now in addition to the lite, reg., heavy,x heavy,xx heavy leather pads, I will be able to offer Ultra lite leather .

in case anyone here has an interest, contact me

I get the impression that trying to accommodate farriers can be a real PITA.

    Rick,

not sure that PITA actually describes it. Having shod horses now for awhile,I understand the need/want to be able to reach into a bin and pick up what is needed right then, having manufactured a couple of items, I think I realize that somethings just can t be made one or two at a time and be priced where the customer would like to see it, usually at a mass produced pricing.

In the case of this leather,if I personally needed a thinner leather, I just always thinned it down myself, often times a dusty proposition, that meant even for a pair of pads alot of dust all over the place, have you ever noticed how guys keep their rigs, alot of dust is not going to cut it. what cracks me up is when i get asked for off the wall stuff ,with alot of time and effort to get it, and i m looked at like i m a crook for wanting to get paid for my time and effort to get it. that s when i think along the lines of pita. but it goes with the business. This project should be ok, enough requests have been made over the years for this to me and the tannery happened to have been slipped some thin hides so no one should be to far inconvenienced.

Here in the Northeast of the USA the main shoeing/showing season is beginning, with clinics, open houses and discounts on farrier supplies.

Keep in mind that you can get the 180 cc mixing tips from me at the very reasonable price of $66.00 per hundred tips or just .66 cents per tip any # in a bag plus shipping. Many dealers are getting
$ 90.00 plus per 100, even with 10% off ,I think my price is very competitive!

And it s not for just the clinic date, my price is year round.
