Can anyone here tell me what it takes to get certified by this association? Thanks! Also, if you could share your opinions of Castle Plastic's various frog support pads?
It probably does. Do you think being certified by this organization means much in the search for a good farrier?
My personal belief is that certifications show that you may be able to perform up to the standards of the stated level of he issueing organization on that day and time. Ray
I think a certification is a good goal to work towards. Aside from the politics and opinions the journey will make you a better farrier. Derek Grimwood
Good and bad, Rocksie. The test as mentioned shows the individual has the skills and knowledge. Only their character says that they will apply those skills. At least you know they have the skills and knowledge. You need to to judge the character.
Education is never a bad thing. In this profession one never stops learning. Being able to test yourself against a set of standards is a good way to go. Like stated above, what's inside the person will determine how good the farrier really is.
