He had just got back in from the Hong Kong show and was at the Göteberg show in Switzerland. His farrier Stefan Wehrli convinced him to come by. It is not everyday one of the best riders in the world (at the moment # 3)or the last 25 years for that, talks about his operation, his views on shoeing, and what he expects from the shoeing( very straight forward, simple). Very interesting to say the least. The farriers that shoe the upper level know what they want and how it looks, but how many times have they talked about it in the public? Or the riders for example? Or even show pictures of the shoeing? Most times we get to see a picture that somebody took while the horse was at a show and afterwards everybody is trying to figure out what and why it was shod like it is or what problems there is. (Example Totillas)

I don't ride often but I love it when I do, and a nice horse is a bonus.

I had an old sawmiller tell me a story about hitting a shoe that was inside a log. He said it stopped the old circle blade cold and shook the building so hard that they thought the boiler had exploded.

they probably thought they would be right back to get them.

Never thought to photograph it but in 1979 when was clearing the land on the farm I just bought; I found a shotgun barrel with my chainsaw. What a mess, I think I ruined 3 chains before I got that oak laid down. Somebody had leaned against that tree and left it for a very long time.
