Yep!! you and I could have a good time over a few brews. My first trip to Indo was in 1991 during the !st Gulf War. They were officially a nonaligned Muslim nation and I never felt any problem (other than the Singapore airport with a bunch of what appeared to be 16 YO kids packing AK-47's)., but I was male. Back in 2002 with Lydia, who is well traveled. The three weeks in Jakarta and Bandung, while I was working and she was a lone female foreigner on the streets were a bit offputing to her. She says the next trip to Asia will be Thailand, not Indo (yes we've been there). In case you wonder, my previous life involved the oil business - packing a bag to fly to Saudi Arabia when the planes hit the Trade Center on 9-11, Glad I didn't fly a day earlier.Back on track - most saddle horse feet will trim to at least a 3-1/4 inch toe in front and a bit longer in back.
Just a question, Mike. You have placed your first nails in the very front of the fuller groove. It looks good, it's stylish and it's unhandy as hell to get a crease nail puller into. Is there any reason other than ascetics to do it?
Nope. If needed I could get them with pulloffs. If a nail is coming out low. I don't drive it all the way.
Michael, very nice! i understand that you could get the nail with pulloffs, but is there a reason that you ,and others do not move your crease a bit beyond the nail head, allowing for the use of a nail puller, if needed later on? thanks ray
Sometimes I do Ray. I have started to move my first nail back further then I used to. I find I get more resets with the toe nail not wearing out. 8 guess I just don't like the look of the fullering going that much farther.
thanks for that Michael, i m sure that it s something with me vs the world, i say it this way because it is something that i ve noticed in manufactured shoes also, and those folk try to make a shoe that suites what most folk like. myself, not to say there is any knowledge there, always prepares the sore hoofed dobbin , basically ,in case lameness happened, chicken little complex, if one needs to put a name to it. again very nice, thanks for taking the time ray
