january competition guideline

    (1) somthing made from one piece of 13" of 1 x 3/8 plain iron

    (2) one entry only

    (3) entries close on the 30th jan 2015

    (4) results on the 1st febuary 2015

    (5) all competition pics to be posted in the competition thread only

    Since we all primarily look at a hoof with the toe pointing away from us as opposed to looking toward us; and with the technology we have to day; can't we turn the pics so we're looking at them the way we do when we're working on the horse as opposed to observing someone working on the horse? (In pics where we're looking at the bottom of the foot.)
    I'm occasionally turning magazines and books upside down so I can see the hoof in the pic the way I would look at it if I were under the horse.

    Just to clear some things up in the competition
    no pics of a shoe on the foot
    the entry has to be made in the month of jan 2015
    if your making a shoe a foot surfice pic and a ground surfice pic

    if it somthing else just a good clear pic

    Waiting for the temps to get above zero. We'll have a few weekends before the end of the month. I was tempted to put up a pic of one I did last weekend, so I would be in first place for at least a little while, but I decided not to because I can do better.

    Well I got som good practice.Got my piece finished today, then realized I used a chunk of 3/8 x 3/4. Next one will be mobetta.

    I turn 1/2 x 1-1/2 fairly often, this will be easy. If all else fails I have a 3lb cross pien that will lay waste to 3/8 x 1. LOL
