I ve started this thread because a friend, Boris, is looking for info about constructing a "Liquid shoe" . I will try to dig up some of the material that a farrier whom if I remember correctly used silicone molds and Vet Tec urethane products, it will take me a day or so because I busy copper plating some rolled nails. For some reason the name Derek Poupard sticks in my head about the silicone molds, and i m sure a # of other folk have constructed "shoes" on site with urethanes and other products. Hi all, horse owners often ask me about polymer shoes from a tube. I had never worked with them. Boris, look up Derek Poupard, he was marketing a mold for installing ,in place urethane shoes, there are several You Tube infomercials about them. As for price, I think it would need to be figured by the size of the hoof, thickness/volume of the shoe etc. At say $30.00 usd per 180cc tube plus tip, for the most common urethane material. Thank's guys! Likely that urethane shoes have a future. But in the meantime they are too expensive. I think that is why they are used in the not worst place in the world - Dubai.
