You sound like you're an illiterate and insecure guy desperate to prove there's some testosterone in there.

Evidently if you actually have the gift of an appendage AND a brain you only have enough blood to operate one at time!

Those Girls are hot wish I lived in their street . After 40 + years of getting pulled around & beat up shoeing all types of horses. I can say with out any hesitation in my mind Thomas your talking through your ass. Not every horse or yearling will stand there quietly & let the farrier just tinker away like its some blissful summers day. It is an insult to any hard working farrier male or female to read such romanticised piffle. Its that type of just pull it out of the paddock all horses behave thinking that gets farriers hurt. you are a dead set twit.

I never said it did and I darned well know they don't. One day you may well learn to read and write without moving your lips and then you'll come to comprehend and understand what is actually being written.

In the meantime, don't think I'm concerned you might do yourself some serious damage!

I'm surprised you're insulted because that was never my intent. I would insult you, but I'd always thought you weren't bright enough to notice.

If that's what purports to be sense or even a sentence then do try harder!

This is why I hate women Farriers (or Farrieratrixes as they should be referred to).
So many are better than me and most I've met could probably kick my ass.
As to the site delineations, Farrier Section and Horse Owner Section. This is after all (wait for it, here it comes), a Farrier's Forum.
It's so nice of you to want to help us out here Karen, but we can handle it ourselves. If there's a subject you'd like to comment on, such as cruelty in the TWH show bossiness, start a new thread below.
The few notable exceptions of non-Farriers here are here because they have earned notability with their knowledge and experience.

Do you recon the farriers can handle it by our selves? I shoe horses not moderate! Last night there was a bun fight with members swearing at women and being rude, Karen had her dustpan and brush out and was tidying up the rubbish that occured when the lunatics started to run the asylum. Even Ray had to edit the odd post but karen did the most.
Quite a few of us employ people and the bigest contribution the employee can give is dedication, You cant teach that or demand it, Karen has that in abundance. Personally I welcome her due diligence and hope she stays and all the other no farrier posters in what ever section they like.

I've gotta call bullshit on that. I have no problem with women being shoers, but men definitely have an advantage with tough horses. We're more muscular with heaviet bones, making us less prone to injury. And, unless the woman has gone through a LOT of physical training, pound for pound, we're much stronger.

You don't have to have brute strength to handle a tough horse. Sometimes finesse gets the job done easier.

Fight with the horse and see who truely wins. Outsmart it and leave the muscles for lifting your equipment.

In other words teaching a horse ground manners doesn't involve throwing them down. Horse has a choice, work or stand quiet.

Its my fault the draft "beat" me up because I didn't quit when I should of and had the owner school the horse or charged to do so myself. Most horses I've encountered are lazy and choose to stand after given those choices. However, there have been two that I've walked away from. Wonder if a man could have got 'em done.

You are one of the biggest arse wipe idjets I have ever met. I've met men like you and the one and only thing you and they had in common was a tiny-something that would grossly cause you to be intimidated by a woman.

So cut the bs, -I worked hard to help make this a good place; WTF have you done? Louder, I can't hear you

That above is actually a compliment, Bill style.

Karen, I believe the tension between you and Bill started with the "moderating" of his post about women being waitresses instead of farriers, which was posted in jest. He most definately is not a man intimidated by women as far as I can tell. He was the first person on Horseshoes.com to reach out and offer help when I was struggling the most. And still takes my calls if I need advice. Maybe this can be sorted out.

Careful Jack, you're starting to lose your persona. You're writing in plain english, rather than your usual "local color". I'm thinking you're not who you pretend to be, or have given up drinking.:p

Thanks, Kim, but the rest of his post does not sound like a compliment.

I'm glad you have a good relationship with him. It would have been straightened if one had treated everyone like an equal member, and not kept posting that I should not be a mod. The problem I felt was that he didn't like his post moderated by someone he did not think was worthy.

And the waitressing thing-someone had pm'd me and told me they thought you were being bashed. And I never got a reply from anyone that it was just joking around. And the other comments were about you getting into a shoeing job that you had no business doing because you weren't educated enough-that was just ole constructive criticism.

But it did turn out that you did a real nice job.

    :)

    Karen,
One requirement of a moderator is to be able to read, as our ol' moderator Rick would say, "content in context". I have had two types of relationships with Farrieratrixes. The relationship where thay have helped me and the type where I've helped them. I tend to offer them more help and have more patience as I know a gal has a harder time doing this and getting into this. A bit of voluntary political correctness.
My Mother was a nurse. My Daughter in law is a nurse. I have been attended by nurses. I've watched nurses attend family and friends. Several friends and clients are nurses, and I have watched many nurses on TV.
I'll bet I would stick out like a turd in a punch bowl on a nurse's forum. I could post and make comments, but I have no clue what you all go through in your art.

I would never interfere with someone getting or giving good criticism. I think Kim wants to hear it straight. That's what most were doing, even if it didn't sound good, it was what she wanted. But I do resent the gender thing being brought into it- most owners that come here for help are female. I had to think about what it may look like to someone looking for professional help. I'm not protecting anyone.

And you still tell a funny story!

There;s constructive bashing and there's degrading , sexist, racist, etc bashing. If someone pm's me that there is someone being bashed in a sexist way, it needs to be removed. Right or wrong, ya have to think about what the public sees, when they consider asking for help.

    Edit:

And degrading bashing is not allowed here.
