Travis, a mod? Or the mod, now ex mod. No, it's not about any member, it's about trying to do a job without back-up, and one member who decided to shred and trash me without limit (not Jack, LOL)

. Ray wants the members to sort out their own forum, and make it the way they want without his interference. I just don't want to be spending my time anymore in a position that isn't really a position. You know?

Travis, I enjoyed it too, as an honor, nothing more. There was not much work involved-most of the time. I did enjoy the teasing, but not the lack of admin support. Oh well.

Karen, your the only personthat seems to have a problem with you being female and you have brought it up a lot.

Farriers are sarcastic and usually mean. I will be working with another guy tomorrow and I know that we will insult each others work to no end. Butat the end of the day we work together because we like the work each other throws down. And if you always work alone its soon becomes inbreeding .

Quit with the sexist card. That is like Obama sayin g im racist because i wont vote for a Democrat. And quit whining if the admin was thinking in a different direction then you. But mostly it just pisses me off when someone has no argument so the throw out the race card or scream about sexism .

Michael, now that I've had time to think about what you said. You've brought up an interesting point. I said I appreciate the insight and I do.

It also points to something bigger in my eyes.
I am in awe of all you farriers coming here with good and bad. You'll bring a picture of your work and ask for advice, even if it's criticism. It's a vulnerability that I feel is hard for most men to share, esp. here, and open themselves up for it anyway.. Even the farriers that seem to be at the top of their game come and open themselves to criticism. It seems that you'll cut eachother down, but when it comes to shoeing, it's back to professional advice.

In a way, Michael, it does mean that I should take constructive criticism as well. And not automatically feel that that it 's a female thing, and not reply as such.

Rick Shepherd, I appreciate your (agree) as well.

    Ranch sorting

Once the correctly numbered calf goes through the gate the team moves on to the next calf. The fastest time to get the eleven calves from one pen to the other wins.[1]
Ranch sorting is a western-style equestrian sport that evolved from the common ranch work of separating cattle into pens for branding, doctoring, or transport. Ranch Sorting is an event that pits a team of two riders on horseback against the clock. Teamwork is the key with both riders working in harmony to cut out the correct cattle and drive them to the pen while keeping the wrong numbered cattle back. There are several variations of ranch sorting with one, two or three riders on the team, but all require sorting the cattle from one pen to the other in the correct order.[2]

    [edit] Setup and rules

Ranch Sorting and its sister discipline, Team Penning, are regulated by the United States Team Penning Association (USTPA), headquartered in Ft. Worth, Texas.[3] The USPA was founded in 1993 in Fort Worth with the purpose of attracting more participants and educating them to the sports of Team Penning and Ranch Sorting.[3]
Ranch sorting is performed in two pens that are fifty to sixty feet long[4] with a twelve to sixteen foot opening[4] between the pens.[1] The corners of the pens are cut at 45 degrees.[4] Both pens are the same size and sorting can take place from either pen to the other.[4]
At the beginning, there are eleven calves at the end of one of the pens with numbers on their sides for identification. The judge raises the flag and when the riders cross the gap between the two pens the clock starts and the competition begins.[1]The judge raises the flag and when the riders cross the gap between the two pens the clock starts and the competition begins. The team of two riders have to move the cattle one at a time from one pen to the other in numerical order, starting with a random number called by the judge. The fastest time wins. If a calf gets from one pen to the other out of order, then the team is disqualified.[1]
I love penning, and cutting. So I'd like this. Once I went to this event that this guy put on where people could bring their untrained horse and give it a go. Alot of terrified horses went out there, it was fun to watch!'
