As far as a Farriers forum goes, it appears this website has hit the end of the road.

sorry to say it Eric but it certainly looks that way ,Karen tried to point out that certain posters were dragging things down , everybody was given the chance to improve imput , unfortunately too many have not made the effort , i really hope folk will buck their ideas up and start using these facilities as a farriers forum , talking farriery and displaying farrier knowledge for the good of farriery

Marc please dont get me wrong , this site has the potential to be the best , it started out that way but several are on here not with the best interests of farriery in there postings ,plenty are not posting as much or even at all because of stupid comments which should have no place in sensible informative debates , it beggars believe that some are actually farriers . to many see it as an opportunity for personal grievences for what ever reasons they might have

I agree. Such a good start and then all downhill!

It wouldn't take much to clear crap from this one but the owner needs to pull his finger out and give a lead and set direction.

It would be kind of strange if I put up the exact same forum under a new name.

All it would take is the moderators to take control and steer for the high road. Issue some ground rules and stick to it. A lot of the old faces are here who made some the o;d forum what it was. It needs its momentum back. Off topic subjects are ok but need to drop off after a month to free up server space. Profanity needs to blocked. Personal attacks stopped and repeat offenders blocked. Moderators steer the topics.

Then nobody would have anything to whine about. Half of the posts on here are somebody whining about something somebody else said. And most people who have complained about other's behavior have also participated in the same behavior they have complained about.

I belong to another forum on the subject of firearms and if people start posting profanity, of subject etc the moderators step in. A strong leader makes a strong unit. As administrator take charge.

Members of the forum should stop the tit for tat.

It's like the horse protection act. No funding, no enforcement.

At least you admit that this site has no intentions of admins administering and mods moderating. I suspect that won't work for long but good luck with it.

In a way I agree with Eric. Sure would be nice to have some decorum on the forum. I only disagree with Eric in that he tends to walk away from a good thing. Minor changes are all that is needed. You need a corner for Jack (Lil' Jack's Corner) - Don't delete the posts - just send all the out of line post's there. People could go there to get their fix of all things snark. And the Farrier portion would be easy peazy be kept informative with the likes of David.

Eric - you are an innovator.

Ray - Your pub can be much more than snark.

Yeah I really don't like all the work that goes into maintaining a forum. Unfortunately this site doesn't appear to be a site that discusses Farriery anymore.
