The issue is that the members all want something different from the site, and this leads to confusion. Just because I want something on your site doesn't make it so. Other people clearly have other goals for this site, and the only one who can ultimately decide is you.

Jack clearly has a goal and a view for this site which is very different from mine. I am not trying to hold a gun to your head, but Jack's view of the ideal farrier forum and my view are entirely different and are directly at odds. How would you suggest that this difference is resolved?

I would have thought the goal of the forum was to have as much input from as a diverse a farrier (and possibly horse owner) membership as possible... and preferable not for car crash threads.

Listen, when Ray says "it's YOURS", the problem is that comment applies to both Jack and to me. We have a very different idea about what the forum should be- so how does that get handled? Only Ray can answer that question.

Banter and Parlay are a respite of people. Vocalist have experiences they want to put forth. Antagonist look for a reactive response. Covientnist just want to stay the status quo...... IMEs, back up what ya say and what you do with evidence: pics, vids and academic findings.....Whether it suits a particular mind set.... so what.... "What works is real"; Tom Ivers 2000.

So how does that get handled? Well you can keep marching around like the Spanish inquisition on your flat world, feeling all upper class & important. I on the other hand will just ignore your future comments & keep blissfully posting, oblivious to your pathetic existence. Problem solved wouldn't you say WHO!!! .

I like a moderated board. Especially like it when it's is run like a local pub or watering hole. The moderator need only be the strong benevolent bouncer who lets the patrons enjoy each other to the fullest that decent public behavior will allow. Out of line and folks will be quietly managed, not publicly ridiculed. No chest thumping necessary. Everybody gets to keep their cloths on, gets to say their piece and leaves with their dignity intact.

I have my favorites, but like Mr Reed I enjoy the read here. You guys really are great educators and a ton of fun in the pub.

You're right, my apologies Ray. Matter of fact, as the guy who kicked off this thread I see no more reason to keep it going so I'd ask you and/or your mods to go ahead and lock it up.
