the inside is not too long , it is the outside that is short , that makes a big difference , also the horse has been shod a while that also will make a difference to what we cah see now compared to the original job
@ Gary: Do you agree with Marc Jerram's comment below? (Marc's comment seemed right to me. Medial looks a good 1/2 inch higher in the pic. And another shows he is a bit bull nosed (wall rasped back?) Was he sore as well? And thanks for commenting.

Unfortunately Jac, every once in a while your actually talk about shoeing and you look dumb. The point of the frog doesn't get laid over that much. Certainly nowhere near where your line was drawn. The foot was most likely trimmed high laterally causing flare and a round toe quarter. The rest of your rant seems to be your usual deflection from the topic.
If anything, the frog looks "laid over" in the direction of the dot. Moving the center of the shoe in that direction would uncover more of the lat heel and make the med even longer.
Went back to this guy last week. I had been away for a while (France is so nice at this time of year... ) and the owner called me to ask if I could call in as her others were due for trims and this guy had lost most of his shoes. When I went it was obvious that the shoes had been off for a while and his feet had broken/worn to the shape that they were. The owner did not want him re-shod as he would just be in the field and working in the school. after a tidy up: It seemed to me that he stood and moved much more comfortably/naturally without the lateral extensions.
I think there was extra toe and heel on both sides that have broken away now. The horse is moving better in part because of that. When you reshoe I would suggest that a lateral extension is not required at this time. Rick congratulations to us on our new certification! It is my understanding that the ASUF BTDCSFT is not awarded very often at all.
