Ok, so now it goes from no control to tyrannical. I asked a question about a good guy and friend to a lot of people on this forum without a huge post to redirect things. Not to big a deal in my mind but you wiped it out. I guess fun and friendship are not allowed unless it's a specific thread about that topic. I don't know Ray, you said you'd like to spend more time with the grand kids than controlling this but it seems you've changed you mind. I think you need to find a good solid middle ground, not ultimate control nor no control. I don't envy you this task. But it seems like you're making more work out of it than you want. Just like sweeping out all of the entities posts. Wouldn't it be less work to ban someone than to have to keep checking and sweeping all the time? Just asking cause it looks like you have to spend more time cleaning up hear than anything else.

I'm not trying to be an ass or over critical, but jumping from extreme to extreme seems like hard work that could be avoided. It's your house and your rules so we all have to learn to play by them, but it's getting hard to know which ones to follow.

    Ben,

Why are you taking this thread off topic?

Why not start a new thread called "Ray the Tyrant?"

    Sheesh!

    Ben,

was your post that I deleted on the subject matter of the thread that you posted it on? If I'm correct the thread was a question about Duckettss dot,etc.. and your post was about Phil A. and where he's been. If you read post 37 of this thread, I've asked folks to be respectful about staying on track, you whinned somewhere in this forum about things not staying on track....

have you found the nifty button?.... start a new thread... it's not very time consuming to use... ,you would have saved you and me a lot of typing and you could started a thread ,, about Phil !

It is on topic Mr. bloomer. It's called Ray's Place in all this. That's what I was talking about. Is he going to run this in the old fluff bunny style or with an iron fist? I don't think he knows yet, but he also doesn't like me much. He also asked for help at one time and hasn't really went with many suggestions. Banning a certain entity would make a lot less work here for Ray, but he likes sweeping up here more than whatever else it was he said he wanted to do. It's his game and his his ball, we'll see if he takes the ball and goes home or not.

Staying on topic without an occasional tangent is pert near impossible. If the post doesn't ruin a thread or take it completely in a new direction I don't see the harm. But I guess your going to run rough shod over the place and it has to be your way now, so be it. Besides, I put Duckett at the end of the post like you said. Just trying to follow your rules.

I think you would get a lot more enjoyment from this forum if you filtered the content through your sense of humor.

    Ben,

I suppose each poster could use "if it doesn't ruin a thread etc. but here ,and I don't know about the other forums ,it seems to. You as I remember were calling for "Ray to step up...." , man I'm trying to ,though, I don't like it, and my read is that Ben wants it special for Ben, we may be at an impasse, I'm not taking my ball and going home, nor am I going to spoon feed Ben, yeah I know you may have put Duckett at the end of the post, just like I suggested, reminds me of, talking to my 6 yr. old grand daughter . I just was not Direct enough for Ben. I hope this is direct enough for you Ben. I'm asking you to leave the playground! (if you can't keep it on thread.) added to the post after speaking with Ben,

Tom, I got the humor, I'm just in a bad mood. Computer crashed with my forge ahead on it and I stupidly didn't have a back up done for the last 3 months. Just trying to figure out how to get something out of this place without having to weed out all the crud. But I guess that's over, Ray has asked me to leave the playground. Thanks.

This forum, Looks and sounds like a useable forum. To gain some help along the way.

Ofcourse, the ranting is much here too!!, and probably likely to grow even better if allowed to. Some is Ok, excess is not.

'Ego' is a basic superfluous yet entirely human function, 'id' is the function of the blacksmith / farrier, and that of the horse. ie more about how the hell can this be sorted and what else has anybody seen/tried, etc etc. That's knowledge and not information.

There's clearly the web issues with people using threads for all sorts of newfound personal ability to be somehow capable of the projecting of crap. I guess it comes from some sport of farrier barn politics. And a few righteous wrongs being fought back along the way, easily add fuel to the fire.

That we can all do without really, as it lets everybody down. But maybe you have to accept a kindly kick in the arese when its needed. Thats the way it is.

Keep going gentlemen. Cast aside the rant and politico-bull, and focus on the here and now, that farriery is. It's a better place to discuss the issues we face.

    Kind Regards,

Welcome aboard Paddy. You probably don't remember me, but I met you in I think it was Chattanooga a couple years ago, at the AFA convention. I was with Jack Evers, and you had some hoof pictures you were asking about at the trade show.

Hey Ben, Get in a better mood! Hot out there? (your reply to me " yeah DUMBASS") Just talk horseshoing for a while. Things will get lined out and we'll get to BS a bit later, when the weather cools down a bit. I know your reading this stuff so that's not that far removed from posting. :p:)
