George, I will definitely take you up on that offer when I can. I drove 10 hrs to go to a Chris Gregory clinic in TX. Spent a whole week riding with Jaye. Head up to Russell Colvin's shop periodically. Paid for xray on my horses and one clients just to learn.

The will and want to is there..... single with two kids is the hard part. I go any chance I get that I have someone to watch them.

With all those learning days they never filled you in on cliping was done due to poor Shoeing..you worked with some of the best surly that came up..lol

These are the xrays for that horse. I'm a little confused. How'd he see navicular changes, etc. when it cuts off before P3 and with these particular views?

Same answer as how he knows what shoe to tell you to put on a horse.

These rads are specific wiews for the sesamoidal proximal bones,not for sesamoidal distal bone (os navicularis).Are you sure the vet and you are telling about the same bone?

Ask him to point out on the graphs the changes.. but not in a challenging way just say in the spirt of looking to learn more ..

Well he was standing right over me, talking about Navicular osteitis (lolly pop signs) calcifications on the DFT, side bone, and minor arthritic changes in the pastern. And then these are the Xrays I get.

I have, he said I can come by the clinic and look in person as you can't see these things from a picture of the Xray.

Maybe the guy sent you the wrong x-rays by mistake. You should go to the clinic and let him put on a show and tell. When he is finished if it doesn't make sense to you then tell him you want a second opinion.

Well it's not my horse......... I'm on a fine line because I don't want to sound like I think I know more than the Vet, and the owner is so optimistic. Basically following his directive and have expressed to the owner my reservations. Showed her those pictures I posted etc. Going back to the horse in 3 weeks from the original shoeing, so at least she's following that.

You asked how I would without the Vet's directive..... Was going off what he had told me at the time. You saw how I had the hoof before.

How would you?

I actually think the horse pulled or strained a ligament and that's really the problem at the moment. I personally don't see all the "stuff"' on the Xrays that the Vet said.

With that much foot to work with I would probably have just trimmed the feet and left the horse barefoot till I had a baseline.
