while away I saw a farrier working on a donkey, he wasn't keen on letting me take a pick of him even when I showed him picks on my camera of me shoeing. The owner of the donkey was keen if I paid for the set of shoes, about a $1 but I declined. The farrier was well proud of the shoes he had made and was happy for me to take a pic of them. The bar is bent up at the heel to protect the bulbs against the rock and sand, it looked okay on the foot but not up to the celebs on the board here's standard.

The guy probably did the best he could with what he could get and charge for. They wouldnt have racks full of kerkharts, st croix, cottams shoes nor have access to concave/flat steel in that country. Did the shoe work and keep the donkey sound?

    David,

isn't that what we all strive for,a good job, as Mark and Rick mentioned,

you should have signed the man up to these forums, he could have judged the next contest!

that's it ,I was saving a stout for you but until you get him on here you'll be thirsty.

    Regards

Im happy out here the work is interesting lots of diasters never saw as many club feet in ten years at home as I saw in my first week here! Ordering stuff is a pain in the arse. Ive shoe making tools and steel ordered since I arrived in July and neither have come. I have plenty of spare time and a lovely forge so no excuses once it arrives.
