I'm in need of a nice little anvil under 100 pounds. I saw these and they look pretty nice.ive never had an anvil with a clipping horn and I'm not sure I like that. However most of the smaller anvils have those horns or turning cams.i don't really like either. So does anyone have a JHM anvil or any thoughts? Thanks
Buy a scott anvil they are like 107 lbs but hit like a 200lb anvil Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
I've got a100 pound anvil. I'm getting tired of lugging it around. I'd Ike to have a 60 to 80 pounder. That JHM is 70. I just don't like that clip horn. There's no cams on it just that weird clip horn.
Take a grinder and make it round i did this on 2 70lb nc anvils now Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
Well Well I like to play in the forge in my shop so I kind of need two anvils. Maybe put the 100 pounder on a swing out and buy a bigger shop anvil.
Yeah, I just ke a clean anvil. I don't want all that crap on there, cams ,clip horns, ect. I just can't find a light anvil without all that junk on it. Thanks fr your help.
I have 2 JHM, a 100# certifier and an Anvil Brand round horn Legend which is also JHM. They are good anvils but ring like a SOB especially the certifier, but I prefer my Scott. I am concerned now with potential hearing loss and wonder about the Delta Future anvils. They seem quieter. Cody Gilreath, CF Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's mounted on a slide out. I have two magnets on it but I can't say it helped much. Cody Gilreath, CF Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Put a piece of leather under your anvil, and a big magnet under the heel. That will help some. You should wear hearing protection anyway, but none of us do. I do wear earplugs in the shop. Regards
I really like my future 3. No ring and being half alum is light enough, yet got good working area. Yea there are turning cams, but they are great for cleaning out nail holes after clips are pulled. So it has a clip horn, haven't used it yet, but I'm not going to cut off my nose to spite my face. One other thing. I have found out you can also order a left handed one if you go to the sorce.
My large shop anvil rang like a church bell and my wife was pissed off so I put a pice of rubber under both feet. Now it is as quiet as a church mouse.
