William,if i were you i would have coved the tabletop, then tried to find a champion pot and bolted it to the bottom,so your nest would be confined, the way it is going to work is that your nest has no confinement and it just sits on top of the hole.If you have to heat the center of a piece of bar it will be hard to do it without breaking the nest apart. For instance all the portable
forges are make like yours with the exception of the tub surronding it.You should of resurched it more. But i can see you put alot of work into it,and it is beautiful............

The nice thing about building something yourself is you get it the way you want it, not what others want. Looks like a good job to me. You'll have a lot of fun when its done.

William , nice brick work, nice design. Question. Obviously it doesn't go on your truck. What do you do with a forge that's at home?

That's awful nice but are you shure you wouldn't be happier w/ a goat stomach, clay brick and a pile of cammel crap fuel?
Makes my wheelbarrow forge look kinda dumpy.:(:D

    Karen, it's for roasting hotdogs.

Okay, maybe I phrased it wrong. What I mean is do you make shoes at home and then take them with you?

    William,
One of my pet peeves is the common use of the word 'awesome". It is however, quite applicable to the work and result you've done on your forge.
As to the question of what you'll do with it, I suppose if one has to ask, then..........
