here's an idea...........write it down what you did when you missed the heels; then add 1/2 inch of steel so you have a 1/4 inch on each side; then you won't miss the heels...........I have done this myself; so I understand........try it......measure, cut, add slight extra; because you can always hammer finish the heels or grind down if over length. but you can put the heels on; once cut to short.....OK!
David when i got to the yard the owner changed her mind said she just wanted the pony dressed so i got the 1st year to trim the pony when he had one foot done i got him to slap a ruler on it and i said i make an egg-bar before your finished the trim 10 mins ,one look at the foot only i was an 1/8 out
Nice ..I broke out a laser level ..got a calculater out..wing dividers.. pen papper used my fingers toes.. and came up only ..2 inchs long..lol..
Horse in on trial ..they thought he had a absess ..so that knifeing on the sole was done by another farrier..very little wall to nail to ..
New lesson horse ..just a walk trot hunter packing kids around..but does work 5 days a week two lessons a day...not sure how old the rotation is...

This is another one on trial ..i passed on this one due to I felt i would wanna really do a lot of changes and I can't help but wonder if he is jacked up or shod like this for some reason ..this did not happen over night and he jumps pretty nice .[I know where this horse come from and the farrier although i don't agree with said farriers style i know he does do a lot of clinic and education ..is there any reason yall can see why this guy may be shod this way..he is pretty far along in the Shoeing but them heels did not get like that over night....
