slim blades are good nails. I'd try to get first and second nails up higher. . .just gets into better foot. And those clinches are plenty long, lose a shoe and it's likely to take a chunk of foot with it. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
Showed up late to a new horse with destroyed hooves. Local barefooter had been doing her and it wasn't working out. Didn't have the right size shoes in the trailer. Haven't made a set in about a month or longer. Cut 14 3/8" of 7/8ths. She fit good but the job could have came out better. 50min is about record time for me. Sent from my LG-P930 using Tapatalk 2
that was a great job.....no one in my area except a few can even do that!!! believe me. I am the only woman farrier {only one} in my {little} area that hot shoes and has at least attempted to make any hand mades or even concave hinds, [exclude the IUJH raceplaters test...that's already done in 1996] 98 % around here cold shoe and use Kerks SX8-SX7 clipped or st.croix eventers/X-tra ez's Slow shoe...keep up the good work

I seen a good bit of padded work in my few sunsets..been apart of it as well..its not easy. Setting up fit and to hit all the needs of horse and trainer makes it pretty tuff...you do some damn pretty pad work
Just fronts and putting them on. I measured the feet cut and marked the steel before i looked at the clock. It only took about 10 min to trim all 4 feet they were pretty short already. Ussually takes me around 70-90 to make fronts and shoe the horse. I was in a hurry. Thanks, you've certainly been putting some effort into your work. Keep it up as well! Yes making a pair or a set of shoes for the horse on the spot can be interesting. making shoes daily will help big time and will knock mins off your time a good system of making and fitting will go along way saveing time
Thanks Travis, I just have a handful that I do, kind of nice to do something different from the normal day to day. I think you can learn a lot from shoeing these kind of horses. Mainly how to deal with crazy people!! LOL!!
