She isn't to where she needs injections. She is perfectly sound when she has wedge pads and shoes on. I am not against injections but she is too young and too comfortable for me to justify injections.
would a navicular shoe help. I just put one on a few weeks ago and it is helping........she asked about joint injections.....and said no way!!!.....just make her in to a trail horse. find another to show. It's only use as a last resort to help with the pain; but in reality your vet needs to be on board with your farrier to see what is best for your horse.
is it possible to get a video of this horse going through the paces? I dont Know if I have a suggestion , but im very interested in watching this horse move ..
I disagree Uncle Jaye, I think the biggest obstacle in farriery is that we have allowed the horse owning public to believe we can "cure" their horse's progressive degenerative disease instead of the reality of merely slowing the inevitable progression down. That and the whole "corrective shoeing" BS instead of correct shoeing...
Mr. Robertson your view point is valid. Valid in the fact(s) that 'some' promote propaganda in "the all knowing and all seeing". Thus, they are promoting the "one has not learned from enough experiences"; just got lucky. My facet is that owners retract to denial when people advise, farriery mechanics and vet medicine do not match their expectations of advised results........
Glad you and few others agree. Had a horse years ago; stallion,WB a dressage queen owned. The horse had an laminitic episode and the owner was in "denial" about the episode. So I was asked to call a vet with a digital rad machine. Done it. Rads were e-mailed across the country and I had to shoe the horse by quorum. Eventually I shod the horse by my experiences and the stallion became "somewhat sound". And here is the but; "i can't pick his feet out with those (Ray Steele) leather pads on.....".
