Would it be safe to trim it like this then? Maybe even lower in the heal, about another line thickness?
Do you have pics of the underside of the foot? From looking at the pics I would have dropped another 1/4" or more off of the heels and dressed that toe back to match the upper 2/3 of the hoof wall. I wasn't there though and don't know what you had to work with.
Outside of rockering the toe , I like how you got what you got out it right now. You now have a base to work with, are you going to do 4 weeks or what?
Its a tricky one and Im not going to give you a solution to it. The suspensory is under tension which means it is doing some of the work of the flexor tendons at rest. The pedal bone has rotated and the laminal bond has broken down and the tip of P3 will be causing the sole to bulge.. I will have a million dollars if you stand behind the horse the left scapular will be winged out and forward. The horse is also lame.
Thank you guys for the assistance and advice and extra eyes I will let you know what I end up doing with pictures.
Rockered/Bevelled toe from the centre of articulation forward. Banana shoe might help but if there is tension already in the suspensory I think the banana would only add to that as I think the suspensory would be playing large part in stabilizing the foot. What do you think Gabino?
Linda a morrison roller is not a banana shoe, and I can make any shoe in my truck a banana shoe so how is it cheaper to buy one. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I agree with you,David. In our experiencie/opinion the banana works well when the horse is standing in the box/paddock, but when we want put him in the work, same horses get the bulbs and heels a bit sensitive. Besides,we can see many horses clubfoot shod with banana, a bit of soreness in the ligament suspensor. If I should shoe the Tejun's horse,my first worry would the tip of coffin bone.Perhaps a Mercedes shoe very rockered and impression material.
Ok, I googled it, went to horseshoe museum.com, and looked through PofHS3. I cannot find an image of a banana shoe or mercedes shoe. Do you guys know where to find any pictures of them?
Im not sure what a mercedes shoe is, maybe its a different name for a spider plate. Google that and you will see a picture. A banana shoe is just a regular shoe where you put a roll from toe to heel making the ground surface convex as below. .
I had a reiner who thought "V" meant victory. So about a year ago I got to making a set of these. Now she understands the number "11". Piece of 25mm x 6. After I got them like this, she began to hold her back end in on a stop. Punched for MX50
