Got to a horse who torn a little piece out of the Right Front. Broke out the Vettec and plugged the hole Knudsmarkvej 002a.jpg

I can't find where, but a while back Smitty was asking for pictures of winter shoe set ups over here. I had just finished putting on winter shoes for the first cycle. The second cycle started yesterday. 008.JPG

What do I do differently? I use a different make of pad. Depending on how the horse is used, I may not use the toe studs, Rick, do you punch all your holes and are those back nails just rivets or full nails.? Is that center punch mark near the left toe stud just to tighten it a bit?

The back holes are drilled. The back nails are full nails, through the hoof. I used nails to rivet the pad to the shoe, then after I had a couple of nails in, I pulled the short nails and nailed through the fourth nail holes.
The center punch was to tighten up the fit, as you thought. You caught me eagle eye.:)

I think that's a pretty nice job, Michael.

Smitty, nice clean shoe, as always. Did you use a bob punch for the clips because of the lack if "meat" available in 5/16, or just personal preference?
