These arnt my charges but smarter is doing less for more. If i do 6 @ £60 and take £360 or I do 5@ £70 and get £350 and paid for one less set of shoes, I have done well same money and have worked less hard. Obviously you need to have market share, a desire for customers to pay you more and work for better clients. As I get older I thought I'd do less horses in a day, I didn't relies that each one I did would be harder and heavier.
What David said. Also know your costs and profit margins and control them. If you don't consider those things, you're probably going to have some fun, but you won't be very successful financially, no matter how much work you do . You CAN do both. Examples: Schedule your workload so that the last job of the day is of the same quality as the first horse, not one horse more. Arrange your travel so that your first stop in the farthest away, and work your way back. Use the best tools you can get. Don't buy into fads. If there are several ways to do something, chose the fastest and easiest one that doesn't sacrifice quality. Include cost and labor into that decision. Just 'cause "Daddy did 'er thataway" doesn't mean it's always the best. Just lots of stuff like that. Regards
That's all well and good if the work is there to begin with. At the moment, I just take all the work I can get.

I think I might have more travel in my day then you do Smitty. Do you only go to 1 or 2 spots a day? How much drive time between stops?
I could have 5 stops some days, tomoro 4 stops all with in a 10 mile radius 45 mins is my longest trip
With the numbers you shoe I just figure you would have plenty in the bank. If you moved to Florida you could pull down around $250 per horse.
Most my stops are 1 or 2 horses then packing up and heading out again. I try to keep things close. But I think I spend to much time driving and could do more in a day. I think I drive less then a lot of folks in my area
im tired of the number 9 its and odd number and perfectly divisible by 3. for some reason that just drives me nuts
