Consider this: It doesn't really matter how many you can do in a day. The bottom line is how much money you can make and keep in a day. If you pocket $400 a day, a paltry amount by lots of y'alls standards, and do that 5 or 6 times a week, on average, that comes to over $100,000 per year. If you can't live on that, you shouldn't be allowed to make your own decisions. As much as some farriers claim to do, if they did it for 15 years, they should be retired and living on their own island somewhere. Regards

why retire after 15 years ? who says we dont live a life of luxury owning houses here and abroad , owning racehorses etc
I guess I should have said "could be retired" instead of "should be retired". I don't want to retire until I am unable to work. I do plan on slowing down some, as I age, so that I can retire in good health. I'd hate to work 50 years and then be all crippled up so that I couldn't enjoy my "golden years" LOL. That's what happened to my father. He worked too hard for too long. It taught me a lesson. Regards

vat is 20% , income tax 20% (up to £32000) , then 40% up to£150000 . nat ins £2.70 per week then 9% of profit over £7000 and than 2% more on profit over £41000 , standard business overheads at lets say 40% , these are just a rough guideline , social services supply us with less spanish speaking nationals
amd i have to pay a poxy thing called the farriers registration council £165.00 per year for the priviledge to pay these taxes to support scum bag scrounging madonald eating , coke drinking , drug taking , work shy lettuce dodgering etc etc , not chuffin happy

In 2013 I started a farm call charge for anyone beyond 1 hr from my place, even if I was already in the neighborhood. Absolutely no complaints. I think with the downturn in the horse biz in Michigan, that farm call was the main reason I stayed in the black.
14 head total. Started with two turds at 830 am. Then drove 20 minutes for 4 full shoes. It's about 11:30 am so i broke for an early lunch, got a little distracted by the news so it's now 12:30. Had one final stop with 1 trim 5 half/half and 2 full shoes.. done by 6 home by 7:30
