Oh sorry, didnt mean to post that and cannot seem to find the delete button? Sent from my GT-I9100M using Tapatalk
Alright, bring it on ;-) One from today, a PITA, was spooking around the whole time and I was close to give up on him. My college helped me with dressing the right one. Sorry, no solar shots.
I hope you charged extra for the PITA factor. Looks like the horse was wiggling while you burned in your clips. I hate it when that happens.
Doesn't look too bad given PITA and no formal education steph. If start with getting the toe clips in the wall a touch more and the fit on the lateral branch of the right one looks like it could've been tightened up from the toe nail. Better job than what some guys charge big money for. Take pics when you come back to reset, that's when you truly know how well of a job you've done. Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk 2
Been a bit since I posted anything. Just a before and after on a trim. Nothing special, I will be posting more stuff soon. New horse didn't do the previous shoeing.
He was wiggling and pulling his foot away the whole time - he is a big wimp that gets even scared when the wind moves the trees around us. I actually decided to reburn the clip as I thought I was a bit off center. And no, I don't charge extra for PITAs as taking care of their feet is part of my job here at the ranch. This horse nearly got me killed on my second day, but I absolutely love him (and the other eleven)
Thanks so much, Josh! This horse has an injured tendon now, so that will make the next shoeing this week even more fun. Thanks for the suggestions on tightening up the branch and go for a better clip fit. BTW, nobody here sets the clips into the wall, they all get hammered on.....
Hammered in clips are bad mojo. Clip isn't working properly plus it makes fitting and finishing a pain. Some factory clips aren't even good fit properly fitting. Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk 2
One from this week. Left barefoot for two years due to some health issues, is now being ridden again. Front shoes only. Hinds where a mess, trimmed them after taking the pictures. Still struggling with a lot of things (clip fit etc). Sorry for bad solar shots. He is a cutie....
