Pair of handmades from today. 16" of 7/8 by 1/2. My first concave pair ever, first handmades on a horse, I think the 5th pair of handmades I have ever turned. Also first time i did not use a clinch gouge, only undercut with the rasp, and first time hammer clinched. I like them, I hope they stay on . Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Well, that was a very lucky guess then. There are many times I work through the weekend and take some other days off. It's the way it is here, many owners need to be present and they can only fit it in the weekend. I have no problem with that.
Yes, they are. I purposely erred towards long in the measurements because I wanted it to go on the horse for sure, I have no other horse on that size to fit if it came up a bit short and concave stock is too scarce around here to just turn them for practice and put them aside, it's a pity. He is safe with longer heels, he never steps on them. I think I could even put trailers on his fronts and he wouldn't throw them. I said I hope they stay on because of the clinches, it is the first time I clinched that way and I can not be sure. They look secure, but we'll see how they will be in a few weeks. With a clinch gouge and clenching tongs I never had a clinch up even at very long cycles.
Sorry, just don't see what is to be gained by shoeing that long. But I am here to be educated - words of one syllable please
