we didnt at Keresley Colliery and I didnt in Portugal , I know Doug has them in his museum but I am beginning to think its a bit of an old wifes tale about there use down the pit , miners wore hobnail boots , they used steel picks and shovels , cart wheels and tracks were steel , lighting was a naked flame so the myth about sparks IMO is worthless

    Chris,

I think it is still advertised in the laqst AFJ, ,2015.

happened to speak to a farrier in Florida back in January of this year who used a couple of pair and felt that he saw an improvement .

I heard Myron Mclane made a set for the carriage horse for his daughter's wedding. He said the driver noticed the horse stepped on a heel and bent it while they were waiting, but when he stood on it, it went flat again. The purpose of using copper was for looks, style, and that he had some.

To the best of my knowledge (heard it from Myron) Bill's story is correct.

Myron then removed those shoes, polished them and mounted them on a board for Amy and her husband..

I'm no good at making shoes, but I made these copper plates to patch cracks out of 3/4" water pipe. I tried filling them with equithane for one cycle but it they got worse. This photo was taken after the copper patch was on for 7 weeks. I used gorilla glue under the copper.

Has anyone here had any experience with the copper alloy shoes that are on the market, I ask because several folk at the Summit spoke to me about the presentation /infomercial there and I remembered this thread from around this time last year?

just got the pair of copper shoes I won at the IHCS trade show, their turning dies are a little racked or they sent 2 left fronts. I will spike them on somebody. They are an alloy not pure copper

    Thanks Brian,

I d be interested to hear your observations of them throughout your use. I listened to the infomercial put out by the AFJ with Esco Buff narrating , and as I said several folk stopped at the Summit ,this past year and previous years to talk about these shoes and about my cu coated nails, so it has peaked my interest a bit.

    thanks
