Pat,you are trying to be convinced verbly,No not all horses grow evenly,some grow more heel some grow more toe.Sometimes people have to spend alot of mony on horses that have to be reset more frequently because of that problem,but that doesn't rule out measureing.Some horses i do will not go sound unless everything is perfect.And alot of times it cannot be done by eye because they are optical eluitions ...........................

At last we are getting somewhere..... If horses do not grow even hooves, why start them out evenly? I asked Dave Duckett this question years ago- wouldn't it be better for horses to be "balanced" in the middle of the shoeing cycle? Especially if they do not grow evenly? It doesn't matter if the shoeing cycle is 2 weeks or 8 weeks- if they are even in the middle they are only 50% off at either end of the cycle. If they are "balanced" at the beginning, then they are farther out of "balance" by the end.
