After some thinking and watching the thread about voting off the island and in particular the jpt, mary ann conversation, with the platerforge follow up I'm beginning to think that folks don't want a place to discuss horseshoeing, farriery etc. .

I'm gonna talk to Andre about shutting it down....

My banter with JPT offended you? Sorry. It was just in fun. But you are right - farriery discussion is much more fun.

I do not think anyone, even you needs to try and please everyone. But I am sure it would please everyone if you kept it open. There are a lot of great personalities here and some great foot work too.

Going off to the owner corner.

not exactly correct; just people get side-tracked; and our minds don't always focus on what's important. it's a psychological anomaly you learn in college; 1 yr of psych/social classes. I have a degree in business; and classes taken.
also part of the ADHD effect.

ps....not showing......meant I won't show my bad hair day from shoeing; that's all...probably not typed to understand correctly; it is a woman thing about our hair; that we obsess about our hair, spend money on hairdressers, just got my hair trimmed; ect. sorry ray.

I'm not offended nor do I care much about ones hair, good or bad

that thread involved banning a member, and how to handle ultimatums, overall concerning horseshoeing and this forum,

sorry the attention deficeit argument won't go far with me since it takes 12 min to 2 or 3 hours to shoe/trim a horse, i would need to ask ,how does one get thru a horse if you can't give 15 sec to think about your response to a thread.

I hate that it's come to that, but I kinda understand the frustration. I hope that you leave this site open especially considering there are valued members who will post here but not on HS.com.

It's your choice and I respect that. Can't help but hope it won't end here.

Ray, I understand your frustration as I do others that are on the receiving end of unfair comments. I am here to share and learn ideas about Farriery . If people cant keep on track it makes us look to the readers like we are how they think most hoofcare providers are...this is the WWW and there are people reading and judging us as to how we promote ourselves.. I hope everyone thinks about this next time they derail a post..

I've had plenty of my threads derailed in the past few months-lastly, the WWYD thread. Nothing said by anyone. Is there a double standard?

:cautious: (Pretend I am a farrier) Sometimes that is all that is needed: a desire to measure up. One day you will live it and you too will see your name under a feet feeder avatar.:p

See Ray - you can not close the site - it inspires many!.

That's precisely what folks do want!. Its all the extraneous BS (of which, in part, I've at times been guilty of) that most don't want. I think David (and now you too) has worked very hard to clean things up and give us a forum you and we can be proud of and participate in. I hope you will find it within yourself to keep this forum alive and functioning.

    Ray,
I don't post alot here(or anywhere) but I do apreciate that you took it over. If you shut it down I completely understand given the "teenage girl" attitude lately. You would think adults could move on but....................................?

BTW, I use ur pads via Anvil.:)

    Hi Folks,

We are gonna keep it going(www.farriersforum.com) , keep it civil and on horseshoeing/farrier related as best one can in the farriers section, and by all means be respectful in the horseowner section, part of that means to me, if you can't answer a question stay out of it, there is no need for one liners or the like there, we incourage folks to ask and professionals to answer if they choose.

If you feel that you can't stomach what someone wrote, learn to ignore or disagree in a way that is informative, if you feel the need to take a hike because things aren't going your way, take it, most will be welcome back after you digest your antacids.

you will probably see more deleting by me or moderators if I/we feel things are veering off subject or perceive that comments made will provide tinder for a flare up. If the perception of pc police is there it will be your perception, mine is to keep this venue on track.

    Regards

    Ray
