George Im sad for the loss of your olmate Good friends are hard to earn easy to love and never forgoten regards to John loved ones yeah
yes, we all knew him personally. he was a great blacksmith and gentleman. he was even going to be invited to a small hammer in this fall in Pa.. many platers and farriers here will miss him in Pennsylvania and the rest of the tri-state area. he was one of the last great blacksmiths and knew all the greats before us. he also, knew John Reed, Sr. who had taught me to plate racehorses. he also met my daughter, Lynn Marie, the daughter of the late John Reed, Sr. and myself a few years back when he saw me shoeing a horse up in Pa. he encouraged me greatly and always was kind on giving a compliment. he sharpen many of my knippers over the years. I remember our NJ union hammer-in and John was there giving up a run down on how to make hand-made hammers, etc. a few years back. he is the last of the olde timers that have gone. it is our great loss in the horseshoeing world. with the deepest of sympathy to his family and friends..................................with love, Linda
