Did a percheron team today, big boys as far as I'm concerned, 19 hands, 8 1/2" x 8" fronts. Lots bigger than the quarter type horses I'm used to. Nice to work on and overall was pretty happy with the job, except the toe clips. I'd say maybe three of the clips fit okay, one turned out right how I wanted it, and the rest left something to be desired. I'm in hopes someone can give some advice on fitting these fellas. Thanks all

Didn't get any pics yesterday. I'll be out next week to shoe another perch at the same place so I'll try to get some then.
They're in kegs. Size 8 Kerks. The problem was when I notched out the wall for my clip, it made that section of hoof wall vertical rather than matching the hoof's angle and my clips didn't lay down right. I think I may have notched out too much?

I've also used a half round file to set toe clips. Seems to work for me. The thing about this job is you got to find what works for you and then go for it. We're all different and work a little differently.

Instead of like you using a knife to cut in for the clips to set, I use a half round wood file, works for me.
