One of my favorite threads on the 'other site' was the everyday horseshoeing thread started by Smitty which just ran and ran. Folk just added one or two pics of work that they had done that day rather than starting a new thread for each posting. I think it would be nice have a similar thread here, so if you would like to post pics of your everyday work I, for one, would love to see them. Here's one from today to start things off. Gary Little Welsh pony stallion
Gary, why don't you change it up a little and create a global album in the user albums for everyday horseshoeing?
Hello everyone I'm new on here. I think this forum is great and definitely a good learning tool . Here is one from last week. Cutting horse that had been barefoot on the hinds for 3 shoeing cycles
Eric, I find a Kerckhaert SX8 are a little light in section by #4. I ususally go to SSP for #4s & #5s. Are you happy with the amount of steel under that horse. What does it do for a living?
I find 4 sx8 very light but since I stole that pair out of the old man's shop I won't complain. I use DF 10mm from 2 - up. I'd prefer about 13 1/2" of 3/8 x 1 on him but I didn't feel like making handmades at the horse this afternoon. I'm happy with the fit and length. I would've like more stock both wider and thicker. He's a fox hunter and not doing much right now.
I might have giving him more lenth Eric but till you have that foot in your hand it could be different
I generally don't fit anything with all that much length. On this guy I think I'd have to take the knife to the heels to open them up if I were to fit with anymore length. I'm barely covering the heels. I'll have to take a closer look next time.
