Pictured is a F A Bell style,5.5 ounce platers hammer. These hammers are nicely balanced and feel good. They are being made and hand finished by Herb Stradley , a plater of some years experience. Herb admits to being 84 yrs.

F A Bell was a respected plater who made his own hammer for himself and for a # of other platers! I m told that he passed around the early 1970 s. His hammers have been known to fetch 200.00 to $1000.00 each.

Herb has these hammers for sale for $150.00 each. Plus shipping

    Herb can be contacted at1 610 385 9736

I don't have any pictures. An old plater I know has been trying to recreate a RB hammer for years. He can make a perfect copy except his hammers don't ring when tapped. ALL Rice Brothers hammers ring when you tap on them. Why they ring is a secret they took to the grave. The claw is identical to the one you posted. The face on the RB is square where as yours is round. Other than that they are the same.
