Hi John, You might want to look at these. I'm on my second pair of the steel toe version in 7 years, and expect to get another year, maybe two, out of them. They're fairly light and very comfortable. Google Wolverine boots. Check out the Durashock work boots, with or without the steel toe. Regards
These are what I am wearing now, and like them Keen Tacoma steel toe boots http://www.zappos.com/keen-utility-tacoma-6-brown Previously always had Red Wing Composite Toe boots http://www.redwingshoes.com/footwear/filter-6-inch Boot,non-metallic-toe
This is what I am currently wearing http://www.constructiongear.com/pil...s-sledge-steel-metguard-eh-6in-sr-xpx761.html In the past, I've worn these boots http://www.steel-toe-shoes.com/Merc...oduct_Code=N1522&Category_Code=metatarsal-toe They are very light and and really liked them but over the years my feet changed shape and they just didn't fit me the way I wanted.
I just ordered a pair of these: http://www.redwingsafety.com/safety-boot/5584-safe-us/5584-worx-mens-5-inch-boot-brown/filter-worx Most places wanted $135.00 +/- I found them for $103.00 delivered. Next thing to order is a pair of Kevlar boot laces
Rick Burton doesn't mess around when it comes to Safety! I nominate Rick Burton as the Farriers Forum Safety Officer. Like the Kevlar lace suggestion. What's your opinion on Kevlar laces? I hate the cheapo laces that come with the boots the eyelets always chaffe the laces, what's up with that?
The chafing of the laces help them catch fire more easily; then fused to the eyelets, no more trouble with untied laces; then can't remove your boots; and like a good cowboy you WILL die with your boots on; all as a customer service...
For years I wore Danner's Logger boots; had a 2 years warranty. Heavy duty for the wear and protection. BUT, yep but, after years of being stepped on and not being able to get out of the boot while the horse's foot was crippling my feet I switched to tennis shoes. Now when stepped on, the ability to "slip right out" of the shoe reduces the length of pain and chances of broken toes and feet. JMO...
$135.00? Yikes! I wear these boots... on offer at 25 quid at my local country store. I like the ankle support.
Bought me a pair of boots to tie me over till i get the one i like there 45 euros the ones i like will cost 150 euros
