Marathon day yesterday fitting a minimal setup into my new toyota tacoma standard cab sixfoot bed mini rig. Lots of decison making as to what one really needs to carry. I will post pics on monday but going to have a fun day today. The new rig burns half the gas as my 3/4 ton extended van (which was just about dead and needed replacing.) I do have a full machine shop set up in a cargo trailer to use on really busy days and can tow that behind my full size dodge pickup with the big 360 V-8. So I have big and little options. Honestly most days involve tons of barefoot trimming and boot fitting and a couple of pair of front shoes and lots of driving around. So the mini-rig made sense.
George I did the same thing the first time diesel hit $4. I parked the dooley and trailer. Bought a Dodge Dakota V6 regular cab long bed. Got a Topper with the shelves and lift up doors. This weekends project is to put together a bedslide so I dont have climb up in the darn thing. I have enough shoes for the day. All the odds and sods. grinder, bench drill, bandsaw, forge and anvil etc in it. Now its pretty loaded but I halved my gas bill. Any pics of the set up?
I put at slide out for band saw and knife buffer in mine this week end ... It's all in a 2010 f150 Sent from my phone
