We had a lot of animosity some months back and all has been running nicely since. But it did damage the forum a bit for a while and lost some respected posters. The banter on here is always good natured, but I sometimes wince at would could sound like criticism. So I ask some of you to be a bit more sensitive of others work. We all see negligent work that has a welfare issue on nearly a daily basis in our practices at home but I dont see that type of work on here. On the subject of advice for fellow posters, we are all here to learn and demonstrate our knowledge, but there are ways to do that. EG would that foot benefit from a heart bar? or, what does the OP think about a bar shoe on that foot? Not it needs or, "I wouldnt do that"! Fortunately its not a requirement to post pics of our work but it does help on the credibility front, there are many ways to contribute. Finally I have copied the definition of etiquette from wiki stuff written 4500 years before the web was invented, I will let the contributors decide if its advice is transferable. In ( 2414-2375 BC) Ptahhotep, wrote The Maxims of Ptahhotep. The Maxims are conformist precepts extolling such civil virtues as truthfulness, self-control and kindness towards one's fellow beings. Learning by listening to everybody and knowing that human knowledge is never perfect are a leitmotif.[4] Avoiding open conflict wherever possible should not be considered weakness. Justice should be pursued and in the end it will be a god's command that prevails.[5] Some of the maxims refer to one's behaviour when in the presence of the great, how to choose the right master and how to serve him. Others teach the correct way to lead through openness and kindness. Greed is the base of all evil and should be guarded against, while generosity towards family and friends is praiseworthy. Though I find it repugnant to do so, I find it necessary to point out the "ignorant old fool's" gaffe/bourde juxtapositioning of the letters 'F' and 'S' in his signature line. To wit: "BTDCSFT "Best Toe Dumper Can't Fit a Shoe Tool"
You almost got me here, but I will read it not as "a god's command" but rather "the Lord's command" and comply. Taking the whole of scripture though, we see where we are to "reason together" and that Paul argued with Peter and "stood to his face", not to mention that Christ was a bit harsh with the lawyers and Pharisees. Actually got himself killed over it. So taking all that into consideration, the OP on this thread sucks. One must be ready to take a bit of crap online that will probably be less traumatic than the crap one occasionally receives while working on a horse's hind end.
Should one take crap? forums don't exist to enable people to flex there muscles. I wondered about the scripture but as it was written 2000 years or more prior to the bible it was the sentiment I was promoting.
why dish out "crap " on a keyboard , stand up and do it face to face in front of others , oh sorry you might make yourself look stupid
The thing that i hate is the person that has done somthing once telling everybody how it should be done
We're just a bunch of good natured bantering fools, are we not? Cheers everyone. ( but just for tonight ) Regards
Or instructing someone to do something that is above there level of experience, that could potentially have serious consequences if applied incorrectly.
Good grief. I go off to a hammer-in for the day only to come back here and find David has been abducted and brainwashed by politically correct fascist cyborg fluff bunnies from a distant galaxy.
