I was offered a Hay Buden anvil # A12202,looks to be a 300 lb anvil. I loaned out my Anvils in America so I can't look it up right now . Can anyone offer any info on it? Thanks Ray
There is a book "Of Anvils" that sits at G & H supply house. I was given an anvil from the West Virginia coal mines: a hand me down from GR,GR,GR father. #375 and the name escapes me......... but I found it in that book over ten years ago.
Brian, it was a trip to the scales, behind the Ranger was a little Tex, I too cheap to waste diesel making individual trips per anvil, My guess was not too bad, the HB was 299.25 lbs per my scale, the Ranger was 98 and the little tex 70. Man is my wife gonna be surprised when I show her the early Christmas presents that I got her! Merry Merry ray ps. if i come up missing, i'll probably be found with a couple of anvils tied to my feet and neck etc, in the Conn. River, in the area of the french king bridge. My wife will tell them she was giving me swimming lessons
Jay, Who wrote that book, can you get me the complete name and author? If it's a bother I'll call Gene. Thanks ray
Ray I would hate to see a guy get in trouble with his wife, I may be willing to take that Hay Budden off your hands. You'd probably offer free shipping!!! P.S. I have already been told I will be in trouble but am willing to take the heat for you!!!
George, sorry I missed this post, thanks for taking the time to look that up, nothing special bout it, a general anvil, I think it might be the original "flat horn", if i use the grinder on it. wish it had cams and a clip starter, maybe i'll fire up the torch and "remodel", use my artistic ability to turn it into another Ranger! ha ha ha thanks again Ray
George, i knew I should not have put a new disc in the grinder, little smaller than the Ranger now, good thing I have the lil Tex to copy!!!!!!!!! hope ya got your heart medications! ray
